Hymen makes me believe in intelligent design. Animals don't need hymen, because they don't have the concept of slut / whore. Only humans have it, because they can think. Hymen exists only because humans are intelligent and want to avoid sluts / whores. Only an intelligent being is able to create hymen for humans. Prove me wrong.

Protects the dickhead, plain as that. Most male animals with dicks have some form of it.
