Freedom stems from non-attachment. As long as you want things, you are enslaved to them. When you stop wanting things, you are free from them -- they no longer hold power over you.
I buy second-hand clothes, not because I can't afford new clothes, but because clothes don't matter to me. As long as it fits and doesn't cause the general population to stare, I'm fine with it. Cars and trucks mean nothing to me. I could buy a sports car, but I don't want a sports car. I don't want a monster truck, either; or a BMW, or an ATV. Truth be told, I don't want much of anything these days. I just stopped caring about possessions a while ago. I own a $6 watch. My everyday carry knife was under $10. My shoes come from Wal-Mart. My computer is 12 years old.
I walk out at night, and look at the stars. That's what's important to me. The cool breeze on a hot day. A glass of well water when I'm thirsty. Being able to sit down when I'm tired. Keeping my good dog happy. Snuggling with my wife. That's what matters in life.
you are wise, fuck to much shit, just what I need but not obsessed with possessions either, just need the basics without greed. Fuck the money obsession, leads to being alone and unhappy still, just live and love which you seems to see so well in your comment.
