The Wizard of Oz is actually a 15 book series. It seems NO ONE seems to make a full series set with all of the original illustrations. So you have to buy them as individuals (wtf). If you even want to buy just the very first one in an original format / presentation, it costs like $40.

If you look on ebay for the books, you'll see books selling for like hundreds and even $1000+.

Never read them.

Supposedly the yellow brick road is an analogy for the gold standard etc. I never even knew they were an original set of books. Just got done reading the original Pinocchio. It's a pure murder fest. And before that the original Alice in Wonderland / Through the looking glass. None of these are like the disney "adaptions".

Read the original Household Tales (aka Fairy Tales) of the Brothers Grimm. They will curl your hair. For example, in "Sleeping Beauty" the prince rapes her while she's unconscious.

That's what I was thinking, has this book been targeted for economic warfare / suppression? It's not even under copyright anymore.
