Didn't the monkey die? I think I remember reading somewhere that it did.
In any event the whole "positive reasoning" for the brain chip thing is laughable. One of the reasons was to "allow completely disabled people to communicate".
Imagine being the first human guinea pig in that one. They put a chip in your brain and suddenly you can communicate. Suddenly you can tell them you want to die and you've wanted to die this whole time.
Then they decide that this is an error in the chip programming.
