The most important part of fighting is telegraphing nothing.
Never get in a fighting stance or let someone know you are about to hurt them.
Suckerpunch enjoyer
Why not?
If you have done your due diligence with your words trying to diffuse the situation, and that didn't work, you need to end the situation as fast as possible with minimum violence, which ironically is often punching someone as hard as you can in the forehead.
In karate, they punch the middle of the chest. They say it's much more effective to knock the wind out than to go for the 1hko.
Chin is where you want to hit them, it causes the head to spin suddenly which stuns the brain - they will drop like a sack of potatoes.
Make sure you punch is an uppercut that comes from below their eye level, give them no chance to see it and react.
Agreed it trains you to stay neutral between offensive and defense. Jeet kun do is the best out next to shaolin monk which my sons a back belt in whatever the mafia calls theyre shit. Bruce lee was killed for teaching and changing it.
The katas are forms to teach agility balance perfection respect. Theres alot to katas. Muay thai and jeet kun do and jujitsu are the 3 best to learn and mix. Wing chun is a great form. That shit jpe rogan did thai chi bahahahaha its all for show and he admits that
Or if you're in a combat sport and you are in a fighting stance, don't advertise to your opponent that you're about to do a certain thing and then follow through with said thing.
Not related, but I was never got pinned via the half-nelson during high-school wrestling because my arms are real flexible.
That's always an advantage. The only telegraphing of moves one should be doing in a combat sport is when one is feinting, to make your opponent do something specific so you can more easily counter it.
