Yeah cwd isnt a thing here but the just required testing of any sold animals, its killing more deer than cwd is here. Dont you have to cook bear well done though?

Yes, but bear well done doesnt dry out like venison or beef. You can cook it all the way without making it tough and dry. Bear and cougar need to be cooked fully due to the risk of trichinosis, which is the same reason we grew up not eating rare pork. Same deal. Nothing to worry about.
