Cats hate cold food. I give her half a can every day around 2. The rest goes inna fridge. The next day I put it on a plate and microwave it for 10 seconds. But just now I forgot it as I was washing some dishes, it was in the micro for a full minute. Turns out hot catfood REALLY FOOKIN REEKS, folks. Goddammit!

We have a toothless eighteen year old lady cat we have to feed by herself because the younger cats gobble her food. Put her in the bathroom with a plate of food and closed the door. Opened the door after she finished and almost feel over from the reek! Animal foods are deadly cancer causing concoctions that should not exist.

11 years now, my trusty fren always.

Get mug or candle warmer for this sort of thing, assuming the can doesn't have a plastic liner.

Microwave on a plate for 10 seconds. NOT in the can.

Try to put it in your oven

LUCKILY, the smell of the cherry pie cooling on the rangetop has now overpowered the catfood smell, wew..

I’d be fucking pissed if the smell of a hot cherry pie in my oven was competing with microwaved cat food smell. Dude wtf. Another commenter here suggested using a mug warmer, That is an excellent idea and you should probably try doing that. Cat food cans are usually metal and I don’t see how it would be a problem at all. I bet when you open your microwave for personal use it still has a lingering smell, fuck no.

Earlier I used the micro to rewarm a slice of pie, it was A-OK.

I scoop the cat food OUT of the can onto a plate. Just let that sink in.

Tuna is especially bad, but any fish will do that. Cats usually only like warmed chicken, turkey, beef, etc. Unless they are picky they will eat it at room temp or even cold.

They hate it cold. 10 seconds in the micro just brings it to room temp.

We had one cat like that too. Our current one will eat anything. When we first got her we gave her food whenever she wanted it. It was at the point of in one end and out the other. Had to cut her back. She had been fostered with 7 other cats and she was the smallest. So I am sure that any food that she could get her paws on was gobbled up.

Yeah, cats will gobble food like goats, but I know for a fact they hate cold food. I warm it cuz I love her.

Give to her cold. She's a female and likely deserves it.

No, she is my loyal fren, for 11 years now. Always by my side.
