What, I should stand there like a lunkhead for 5-10 minutes, THEN put the food in? I throw it in right away, set a timer on my phone (unless I forget), and hope for the best.

EDIT: my cherry pie turned out OK, just a little overdone on one edge. And kinda raw in the middle. Hmm.

I have almost very seriously considered that option, but have a housemate...be kinda hard to explain ('It's not mine! I was holding it for a friend!').
