Diet. exercise, and nutritional supplements, (vitamins, etc,) can somewhat offset, and sometimes reverse the cognitive declines associated with aging. Best to learn all about it now.

The effect you are describing can be caused by nutritional deficiency. Cell performance overall declines with age, and it becomes harder for the body to harvest and deliver the necessary chemistry from your regular diet. That really shows up in middle age.

Regular consumption of wild caught fish, not farm raised, can dramatically improve brain performance overall, including memory. The farm raised fish is dangerous, (often contaminated,) and should be avoided.
