One thing I am pretty certain of is that pensions if they get paid at all will be paid in such deflated value dollars (from inflation)that people will be getting much less in buying power than they think.

Asset holders will be in a better position than those expecting to have no assets but survive off of pensions.

I think so too. Wondered since quite some time how that's not obvious to people. Every nest egg based on fiat will be ridiculously devalued if not outright worthless.

Think life insurance, 401(k). There might be inflation protection on some policies? I'm a financial moron but I guess these would only make sense so long as the insurer doesn't go under.
