I've been thinking about a two-level sub block (there's currently only one, which means no posts from blocked subs will show up at all)
How about:
level 1 = blocked, but posts from blocked subs are still showing, but dimmed, like the algoed fag's comments
level 2 = all posts from blocked subs are hidden
