diet fad
Please tell me how long humanity has had access to modern wheat and rice, hybrid fruits year-round, and a constant supply of food.
Insulin resistance is only an issue with diabetics
You are smoking the koolaid.
Genetics
GTFO
What a bunch of debunked garbage! You seriously have zero understanding of how the body responds to different macronutrients.
It's real simple, but the people who sell food make it complicated because that's their job to make money by deceiving you. Hence all the diet fads. There's a new one every few years. It's all about how much you consume (laws of thermodynamics), getting the right amount of macro/micro nutrients, and if you're predisposed to certain diseases (genetics) you may have to be more careful with the types of food you eat.
Excerpt below from here (check it out): https://www.dietvsdisease.org/do-carbs-make-you-fat/
"Indigenous groups like the Tarahumara Indians, Kitavans and Massas all thrived on high carb diets for hundreds of years. Obesity was rare (if not non-existent) in all of these indigenous groups (9, 10, 11).
For example, Kitavans had virtually no overweight people – and very low insulin levels – despite a diet that was 70% carbs (12)."
laws of thermodynamics
(aka CICO)
There is a major flaw in this mentality which assumes that "calories out" does not depend on "calories in." The body adjusts to so-called starvation mode by burning fewer calories.
You sound fat.
Starvation mode is a myth. https://www.aworkoutroutine.com/starvation-mode/
What you're describing is adaptive thermogenesis. The less weight you are the slower your metabolism is. This is why people who consume a lot of food tend to fidget more. They have more energy. They have a faster metabolism. Bigger people tend to feel warmer because their bodies put out more heat aka energy.
As far calories in calories out, that's just the laws of thermodynamics. Although, it looks like someone tried to market it into a diet so I don't know much about this particular cico diet, but I know that if you consume more energy than you burn, you're going to gain weight. If you burn more energy than you consume, you're going to lose weight. It's that simple. Everything else is psychological. If you're goal is to be healthy, well then you need to eat more nutrient dense foods because they fill you up and they are filled with nutrients that your body needs. Processed foods have very little nutrients and don't fill you up. This is why people overeat them.
If I was fat I wouldn't be saying how simple this all is.
