We had that shit more recently, remember when Russia shot down that flight over Ukraine and the soldiers took childrens teddies as trophies? Thats how the news spun it, it was eastern Ukrainian freedom fighters that investigated the wreckage and they were disgusted at the destruction they saw. one soldier almost in tears holding up the teddy "Look at what they have done!", US media taking that frame and labeling it 'Russian soldier gloating over his trophy'.
