It's simple I think.
Users of a platform identify with that platform, and people wish to have value and be superior, so they think say they're better than other platforms.
Also from my cucked life in politics I learned that the easiest way to get applauds is to attack enemies or competitors no matter how stupid my arguments were, in-group out-group shit seems to lie deep in peoples brains. It's an easy way to score points with the in-group.
Your question indicates that you see through this shit, that's good, because it's all bull. I was on communities.win a bit and it's not bad, yet they hate us and we hate them.
Also if one would recommend other platforms, like "X platform is better than Poal" then in a way that is sort of attacking Poal since it might draw users from Poal to other sites.
