On the US census form, I reported my family as Polynesian. I did this for several reasons. If people report themselves as other than white it could benefit there area. Less targeting for racial diversity, and maybe more funds. My geo code never had any Polynesians in it.
I found the results of my experiment in the US census data. There are now 3 Polynesians in my area, not the six (6) I reported. I asked myself if the census got it right or have some other Polynesians moved in (very doubtful)?
Looking around I found this info. I guess the data is fuzzed at very local levels.
