I was lying down in bed, and had woken up. Eyes were still closed though. As my eyes were closed, my vision changed. It was something else. Not the usual blackness. Instead there was a grid. A bunch of squares. There was a dull grid pattern. It looked like a bunch of pixels. It reminded me of virtual reality except the video game wasn't running.

And here's the thing, it was not a dream. It didn't feel like a dream. It was me, with my eyes closed, staring at pixels. As if there was a computer screen in front of my eyes that was turned off, or not working.

You were dreaming you just were't asleep yet. I do it all the time, normally it will be a swilling pattern on the back of my eyelids. I'll follow it around and try not to wake up by noticing that I'm dreaming.

One time I found tiny holes in my eyelids, as I looked through them I saw pictures, upon closer examination they were actual tiny little windows that would move as I... yeah, it was a dream but I was fully awake.

On another note: Once you start VRing you get cool similar dreams. I had one where all reality began to shake like the screen sometimes will when VR is loading. All of reality fell into a 2D rectangle and began drifting away from me leaving me pondering that every place I've ever been, everyone I've ever known, is floating away.

I've had tons of strange dreams. Some hallucinations, too. You'll have to believe when I say this one was very different than all the others. It was just so plain. Literally like I was staring at a computer screen. And nothing else. There were no surprises. It didn't happen when I fell asleep. It happened when I was awake but I had my eyes closed.
