Unfortunately yes, I remember when Highway 8 had no traffic, and I sailed catamarans in mission bay. Parking was no problem. My mother used to drop us off at the San Diego Zoo in the morning and pick us up on the afternoon. When we were bored we would tour the San Diego museums. When we got hungry we would fish coins out of the fountain in front of the museum. Those where the days…

Edit to add: we would wait in front of the San Diego science museum. A family or group would walk up with their tickets. One of us would join in the confusion. We would be let in one by one. It was great because the San Diego science museum was awesome. We loved it. It was so scientifiky! We were never caught and we ‘Navy Brats’ enjoyed every square inch of that museum. Thank you San Diego for never grabbing us and throwing us in jail, we might have joined the navy instead.
