Years ago I ran into a guy that I went to school with. He asked about my time in the military then stated " I would have been Special Forces if I had joined!".

Of course he had no clue about the effort required to accomplish that. I asked him " are you good at taking shit?". He replied " I dont take shit from anybody!".

I laughed and said " If you want to be Special Forces you take shit every day for a year". he had no comeback.

I worked in a place with a bunch of exmarines. On one of the bathroom stall walls was written "Pain is nothing more than weakness leaving your body."

I pulled out my sharpie marker, and followed with: "One night I was walking through the dark livingroom and stubbed my toe on the coffee table. I felt the weakness leave my body."

It is true. As I look at the future and what it will cost me/us to stand for truth, even to the point of death, I sometimes doubt, but hope, that I have what it takes to stand. Would be easier if I some like minded poals here with me in this looney town.

I am pretty sure I am not tough. Hell, I'd sell out my work for a good dinner. Threaten torture I'll probably sing like a canary. I deal with a lot of pain and frustration and suck in my life though, so who knows?
