I'm thinking a sniper rifle is a good thing to have, but not necessarily a Barrett .50, or any other .50 for that matter. That's a rifle for experts, and in the right hands can do wonderful damage. But a regular small caliber sniper rifle that is portable and easy to conceal is a better bet for the average person seeking to pick off a few fascist enforcers. A regular old hunting rifle with a good scope fills the bill, preferrably bolt action. Then, if authorities demand to know why you have such a rifle, you can always say it is to hunt big game (which of course is true, in a sense).
