I've been a software developer for years, but this will be my move into management. So, bonus, I don't ever HAVE to write code again. Now I can just do it for fun, when I want to.

They deal in construction and manufacturing, so maybe that attracts certain types of people? I dunno.
They sound like they are in fields that don't require constant injections of cash to stay afloat because they sell enough products to have the positive cash flow that they don't need investors.
Oh okay, I guess that makes sense.
I would wait until you see what kind of "coders" you are managing before you jump to that conclusion.
