I only just realized that turning off notification sounds also disables call volume on Android phones now.

I straight up wish I could murder whoever the fuck thought it was a good idea to merge the two together (this is not a death threat ty, it is a valid autistic expression of my emotional state).

Searching for this only results in karens and kevins responding with 'Why le fuck would you ever need separate call and notification volumes?'.

Because I can't and dont want to miss phonecalls but I don't fucking a million pings a minute every time an app wants to say good morning or some such useless shit like they all do nowadays.

There needs to be a death sentence for people that actually believe that all these android notifications are ok.

Also I didn't even mention the obscene number of marketing texts from anywhere I have previously purchased from.

Turn off app notifications.

That'll disable getting a ding from text messages, at least on my rectangle... Had to go and set each app permissions individually, which is a pain in the ass.

Don't get me started on the fact that disabling video auto-play on jewtube through Brave browser site settings also makes videos stop playing any time you adjust the volume... bastards.

As the other guy mentioned, such methods also disable text message sounds I want calls and text messages only to make sounds.

Notifications includes all texts and app shit, and is combined into the volume slider for calls as well.

For now I have simply set notifications sound to none, which means no alert for texts as well.

Mine I can decide what to turn on and off so no notifications from apps but text and calls come through

Thats only possible on older Android OSes.

The newst ones have integrated all notifications and phonecalls together into the same volume slider.
