People have dogs for lots of reasons but I am becoming increasingly thankful for my dog every day. My dog is not a guard dog. My dog is not vicious in any way. But my dog has a big bark and makes it virtually impossible for anyone to get within 50 yards of my house without me knowing about it. We live in a time when the Stazi will come to your house if you say the wrong thing at a school board meeting. Good perimeter security and alarms can give you very valuable warning.
