Fish sauce, the main flavor used in Viet/Thai food, is identical to the fish sauce used by the ancient Romans (garum). I use it when I want to pep up a soup or sauce, instant savory. It makes any gravy better. The trick is to not use too much, and let it cook in.
Mediterranean diets lead to longevity. I'll stick with leafy greens, nuts, olives and their oils and do my best to refrain from processed foods and FUCK fish sauce, snails, squid, half grown ducks in eggs etc. I'll stick to elk, venison, salmon, trout and my garden and as much as I can get from the Mediterranean until shit fully collapses
