I did this years ago.
Problem is storage. As expensive to have in a dock as rent.
Unless you are going to be away from docks and living out in the water.
Even so when you approach land it gets expensive. Visa fees. Water and food more expensive. Wifi very expensive.
And you need to do boat maintenance every 3 to 5 years which means boat out of the water.
Also can't just drop anchor anywhere any more. Coastal cities force you to moorings and then charge you per night.
And you use deisel for electricity and moving and making water although new solar panels can take about 1/5 of that burden now unless you have a big catamaran with lots of panels.
It's not at all what it used to be.
Like with RV s jealous homeowners hate you and try to ban you or encourage local politicians to restrict you or charge you money to use public roads or water to park in while keeping it free for themselves. Meanwhile local homeowners use roads we all have paid for for free, park their cars for free on them while filling their garages with junk, dump their sewage in pipes going to the ocean or landfill instead of in waste handler's like boats and RVs, generate 10x more trash and waste than a boat or RV owner, have far less efficient appliances and have dwellings made of paper machace and paint that don't last. But boat owners and RVs living mostly self contained lives are the bad guys.
