Im doing a seminar on this shit, you're federal tax rate is one rate. than there's two additional taxes (social security, and medicare, both failing), so really you pay 3 total federal taxes, not 1. on top of this you have muni income tax, state, tax, etc. where the fuck do these mythical people live that only pay federal taxes?

There's a lot more than that. There used to be a website that broke down exactly all the many, many taxes that you pay and what your actual tax vs income % was and it was way, way higher than you think.

Federal income tax, state, income tax, local income tax, sales tax, vehicle registration tax, drivers license fee, registration fee, NICS tax, excise sales tax, alcohol tax, tobacco tax, mandated car insurance, and the list goes on
