As far as I could find the 2nd answer on that is the correct one (rather than the first one), i.e., "hu" doesn't mean anything by itself because the full word is "human" and the etymology isn't that of a compound word "hu" plus "man" it's from one word (as I posted).

I fucked up. I aimed the wrong way. The person who wrote that Quora response explains what I was pointing to. This is the essence of man being created "in God's image". Contrary to popular belief, that's a mistranslation though. It's not "in God's image". Instead, it's more like, "with god-like attributes".
