So I have a cooler I keep stocked with drinks and ice. I like my drinks Ice cold. So every day after work I would stop by a convenience store and buy Ice. I would get two 10lb bags for a total of 20lbs. For about $5 total.

Now I cannot for the life of me even find 10lb bags. Everywhere is selling 7lb bags of ice for the same price. Same brand READY ICE too. Now when I go get two bags for $5 I only get 14lbs. Not enough to fill my cooler. So now I have to buy 3 bags for a total of 21lbs of ice for $7.50 now.

This week the ladies at my local nail salon were freaking out. The owner showed me her supply catalogs. Most of her supplies are +40% to 2x price.

This small business owner (who fully employs 5 others) survived the lockdowns, the employee shortage, health related hesitancy, and push back from increasing her prices required to stay open.
