I was an occasional reader/listener of Cantwell's for a long time going back to the Free State Project days. There were always rumors and accusations that he was an undercover cop because of his pro-violence talk. He is intelligent but lacks self-control. He has an exaggerated idea of his own brilliance as a radio host. He doesn't deserve to be in prison but his troubles are partly, if not self-inflicted, at least self-invited. Also (despite his old libertarian calls for killing of cops) he wouldn't stop trying to be friends with police and the FBI. He doxxed people, reported people to the Feds, and wouldn't shut his mouth when the Feds came asking him questions, which went a long way to help them convict him.
