I am probably in your age group. I have a different outlook.
I am thankful for what I have, and more importantly for this conversation, for what I had.
I have lived in the greatest country ever during the time of the greatest advancements in the history of civilization.
We had our struggles, but we were safe, secure and had access to abundant food and labor saving machinery and consumer goods that made life easier than any of our predecessors could have imagined. I experienced the beginning of mass communication.
I grew up on a farm. I hunted, fished, drove fast cars and chased girls who were all goddesses compared to what I am forced to look at now.
We worked hard and raised kids who are healthy, happy and very successful on their own. We sacrificed some things, and accumulated an estate that will keep our offspring very comfortable.
I may be a 'boomer', but I don't fit the stereotype. I didn't spend my kids' inheritance. I have never voted for a democrat in my life.
I HAVE NOT BEEN VAXXED.
I have contributed privately to a few who deserved a chance to grab on to their dreams.
I don't envy those who will have to endure the strife that may happen in the near future.
Sure, I would like to live another 100 years, but I'll likely be checking out within the next decade.
I'm OK with that.
