This way the government makes citizens believe that the main part goes to military instead of education and healthcare for a good reason. Without the Russia & China bullshit it would be possible to have free education and healthcare easily.

There is absolutely no reasons for NATO to exist after collapse of USSR. Whole NATO's point was to ensure safety against soviets.

And unfortunately Russia and China also spends shitload of money on military to protect themselves from US, at least that is official propaganda narrative.
