Make a tools sub. I'd subscribe to it.
The prices for the sata impact driver are all over the place looking up its price history on amazon. I can't guarantee that the batteries will have available replacements when they stop holding a charge either.
Some stuff is worth buying top tier, but if it's something I know I won't use much I'll get a harbor freight. I keep an envelope in the tool box with the receipt. They want that for warranty now.
I bought a ball joint press from them for an old dodge I had. It worked for that. It was for a one time use (hopefully). I loaned it to another and it bent and was fucked up royally.
Try to warranty it?
Nah, I bought it like 12 years ago and loaned it out last year. Like I said I got it expecting a one time use. If I was a real mechanic I would have bought better.
Aside from the other DIY subs already listed, there is a more general tools and other construction sub called . I think that should cover your general tool posting needs.
