I think the level of discussion on this site is pretty low. I get that random people aren't your friends, calling people 'nigger' is a thick-skin filter, blah blah, blah. But being an asshole to people for no reason is grating over time. People should just be nicer in general. It's something that I have to keep reminding myself of on sites like this. I don't need to go full asshole just to win an argument. If I can't do it without being an asshole, I don't know what I'm talking about.
Not that this site should ever become the pedo-run echo-chamber dick-sucking contest that is reddit. Redditors trust other redditors more than their own family. That's cult shit this site needs to avoid.
You think the level of discussion here is low, but I came from Voat, and Poal by comparison is much nicer. LOL. Those people on Voat were literally insane, and/or retarded. At least on Poal, if someone acts like a dick, you can give it back to them, and then that's probably on the end of it. On Voat, they were a bunch of fucking pieces of shit. They were like the people on reddit but with opposite values. Fucking Hell. They'd constantly harrass you, and couldn't let shit go. They were a pile of fucking dumb losers. I hated 99% of the people there. But Poal is more like 50/50. 50% cool dudes, and 50% douchebags. But it doesn't come close to Voat. So, I'm appreciative of this place. I can vent, and talk bullshit, and it's generally good.
Although I think we have to keep in mind, much of the name-calling, and garbage behavior is a joke. We call one another names as a joke, and we're not being serious about it. If everything I said here was serious, holy fuck, throw into a mental hospital. But most of the time I'm just kidding, and I think people here need to know that Poal is not a place for high intellectual discussion. A lot of the talk here is just for fun, and we're being idiots for a laugh.
