Yes. Shellac, or the secretions of the lac bug from Thailand, is used in a lot of foods. It's called "Confectioner's Glaze."

I've seen it called both, but candy corn or "fall mix" is usually what's on the tin.

I recently heard a friend vent about how they used to call it indian corn, but can't now because it's racist. I honestly had no idea it used to be called that!

I see two kinds, the traditional orange, white, yellow stuff and another variant that's brown, white, orange. I think the latter was called "Indian Corn."
