Missing white woman news stories are nothing new. The police wrote down that she was hitting him and he was threatening to leave her. From the police report it certainly seems she was a crazy bitch and her boyfriend was near his limit. Most likely he left her on the side of the road somewhere and when he came back to pick her up she had either wandered off into the woods in a rage or she had gone off with someone else. Hell, she might not even be dead, she might be hiding out with some rando and staying quiet in the hopes that her boyfriend be punished for her disappearing. The boyfriend is smart enough to stay quiet because admitting he left her on the side of the road somewhere could at least lead to him getting sued by the family.

I've been wondering that too. What makes this case special? Because they are on Instagram? Big deal. I'm always curious to know how people afford to take these long trips and not work. I'm guessing they are a couple of spoiled brats who got sick of each other a few days into the trip and it escalated to the point of a physical fight in which she was killed by head trauma or something. He freaked out, hid the body and went back to FL where his mommy and daddy would take care of everything for him.

He probably just left her on the side of the road somewhere and when he drove back to pick her up an hour or so later she was gone. The police report from a fight earlier showed she was scratching his face and his arm and he had tried to lock her out of the van so he could drive off without her because she was flipping out and hitting him in the face.

Some cases really grab the attention of the public at large. This one is particularly interesting because there's body cam footage, a 911 call and a travel blogger catching the van door closing while it was parked off the side of a secluded road in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention the fact that this couple had a fairly strong social media presence.

Lots of cases get nationwide attention but its transitory. It's transitory because we live in a 24/7 news cycle where the next thing is just right around the corner. Some cases fly under the radar but get podcasts, 100s of YT videos and books written about them later (Maura Murray comes to mind). Some grab our attention immediately and stay there (Casey Anthony).

If this is FBI PR then it's fairly bad and not planned out. If they wanted FBI PR they'd just arrest someone with bomb ingredients in the trunk of their car and make sure everyone knows they saved the day.
