Absolutely. Because of those shit humans (definitely not people) we will become extinct on this planet. Years ago I was holding on to hope that in my lifetime we could become type 1 and before I died, see progress to type 2. All is lost.

Hope is not lost, take comfort in the simple fact that they need us to survive and thrive, but we don't need them to survive and thrive.
Separate yourself from society, become self reliant and you can outlast all the trash in the world if you have the true strength needed. If all else fails prepare yourself to take out as much trash with you as you can.
Most of us would be extremely fortunate if in our lifetime, we get to see warp drive tech.. at best the story line of Star Trek: Enterprise might become a reality.
Thats a very slim chance. We have a lot of work to do and not a lot of time to do it I think.
Warp tech is still a theory at best. Some other form of FTL travel could be discovered before warp.
We cant even use decades old super technology because of greedy evil fucks, we have no idea what actually awaits us in just twenty years time. The current paradigm is not sustainable, do you want to roll over and be washed away or fight the waves and see where it takes us after the collapse?
