Heartburn, burning and other ailments you feel may come from acidity in the stomach and be affecting the esophageal channel. In case you are experiencing heartburn now, or feel it constantly, the reasons are :

Overeating, chewing gum, drinking too much liquid, soda, salty food, sweet, fatty or fried foods.

To make heartburn stop, it is recommended to drink a half glass of cold water, and eat a slice of bread, the bread will clear the esophagus and carry the acid back to the stomach, if the heatburn returns later, do it again. Do not eat or drink a lot of water while you have heartburn because it can worsen the situation, making the stomach work even harder and generate more acidity.

Bread has sugar, so that's not the best idea. But yes. Sugar, especially in a stomach that isn't acidic enough, breaks down into an alcohol which causes the heartburn.

Milk helps, sort of. It will stop the burn, but pasteurized milk has issues, also. Best actions are over time. Apple cider vinegar, digestive enzymes, and staying away from foods with chemicals added for flavor, texture, or as a preservative.

I eat whole wheat bread.
