I told him resigning last week, told me to hold off on telling anyone and he would contact my recruiter to find out how it works. Haven't heard from recruiter, or my manager, which means he stalled, or is stalling for time. What pisses me off is that i already have a new job lined up, so him not acknowledging my resignation hurts him more than me. But it seems he would rather fire me on his terms, than let me resign on my own terms. We live in a very sadistic world

Years ago i worked at a place where everyone that gave the expected 2 week notice was fired in a week. one woman had the balls to bring it up in a meeting. Management was butthurt as hell.

I've seen places demand a two week notice that fired anyone as soon as they gave the two week notice. Even better was when people said fuck it, and just quit on the way out the door and they did an all hand meeting crying about it. People brought up the reality of it and management denied and lied and cried harder. So no one ever gave a 2 week notice afterwards... The new definition of the word "management" is what used to be called "mismanagement".

I worked for a guy that wanted 2 week notice if you were gonna miss a shift due to being sick. He was serious

No it was an informal audio meeting, so there was no official follow through of any kind
