I'm surprised and also glad to hear that it is not as bad as I recall it being. That bypass to wrap around the city instead of needing to go through it was very welcome back then when they finished it. I wonder how much that had an impact on the city's economy and demographics and if it was helpful in slowing, stalling or reversing its path to 'the dark side'.
