So they took me in for the lightning round call yesterday, standard corporate "where did we fuck up" call, how can we do better. I was completely apathetic the entire call (I have already lined up multiple backup offers and scenarios so i couldn't care what they say anymore), and it "broke" the system. It was completely accidental, but my manager pretty much admitted they cant fire me, and at this point they would need to contact HR to figure out what to do next. But what's strange, is that i told them i wanted to resign, and he told me to hold off so they can contact my vendor to figure out the rules. So i guess i cant quit/resign/be fired even if i want to? And this is why corporate America deserves to die, because of this right here. Either this is a stall tactic of some sort, or they guy is that incompetent he's never had to fire someone, but this reeks of favoritism and vendor politics
