Last week my fiance died, took his own life. He was a man of many talents, he did so many different jobs throughout his short life including a commerical fisherman, marine, cop, and more. I was in love with him and wanted to have his children. Please promise your loved ones you will never take your own life.

More often than not, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I too am sorry for the loss.

I have to disagree, IMHO, it's not a solution.

The problem remains for those who stay.

It solves the problem for the one that makes the decision. But I agree, it's never a viable solution.

That's not so obvious. As far as I know, virtually no spiritual traditions approve of it. (Yes, there is a Buddhist section, where monks poison themselves, but some things are just fucked up.) I think most, if not all, Christians view it as a sin.
