Something I noticed, he came by for a few days. I always knew he had a drinking issue, but when he left i noticed his bed sheets were soaked in urine. He pissed himself in the middle of the night and just left the sheets there. Not only that, he waited for a few days, so the mattress is now ruined too, and completely soaked/humid. I was gonna use it to sleep on tonight since i only have the one mattress, but that seems to be out. But like damn, this cant be good if hes pissing himself in the middle of the night from being black out drunk. He didnt even seem to have drunk that much, but he must have because upon further reviews, i had 3 bottles of wine (i dont drink wine) and 2 of them are currently empty, not including the alcohol he drank at the restaurants whilst he was here.

Well, that night he drank too much. Way too much. Is that all you have to go on? An actual alcoholic can easily brush aside any accusations easily. It was a one time thing “my bad” and “I’m sorry” etc. Ask him, did you drink these two bottles of wine? He’ll probably admit it. Then make him realize family’s drink bottles of wine, no one drinks one themselves let alone two! Gently set him down and then beat the shit out of him. Let him know if he ever reaches for or sips a glass of alcohol in any form he will get the shit kicked out of him. This usually works after one or two beatings. Science!

Not the first time, and also not the first mattress that was ruined. Also not the first time he drank so much he couldnt remember anything. His ex gf used to pawn him back on me in the middle of the night at times because she couldnt handle him anymore

Yep, you have an alcoholic on your hands. You need to have a quiet moment with your family and friends to decide where you’re going to bury his body. Then let him know we are tired of you’re shit and if you don’t straighten up here is where we are going to bury your naked corpse! Say “Naked” real loud for emphasis. This will work. (Please don’t actually kill him, but do toss him into a pre-dug grave, hilarious.)

The thing is he has a good job, and a relatively normal life. Allthough every time i call him, usuallly a few times a week he is always without fail

  • getting drunk with his friends playing a game or doing who knows
  • getting drunk at a bar to make it appear he isn't a drunk
  • getting drunk at home because he's lazy that day

Pissing the floor and shitting the bed are sure signs of alcoholism. Not being able to go a day without a drink is another sign. Alcoholics will sweat for no reason, and their sweat has a stale alcohol stink -- this is their body desperately trying to get rid of the poison that is killing it. Never being able to pass up a free drink is another sure sign.

The thing is I dont generally drink but keep alcohol around usually. Sometimes ill drink a beer or two from time to time, and then abstain for a few months. The difference is i know i can get addicted easily and so just opted to not drink in the first place. But this, this is just on another level. The worst part is my wife and I used to live with him, and when he eventually left the apartment at the time, he took our mattress which was clean and left his mattress which was piss stained. So we had to throw that away when we noticed. He had actually swapped them when we were at work, and we only noticed because the bounce wasnt quite right so to speak

He's a fuckin asshole, m8

Exactly. Being a cuch by putting up with his shit is fucking insane.

He needs to buy you a new mattress. I would slam him hard on this OP. Tough love time. Then kick the shit out of him as suggests. I wouldn't allow him a return visit. He might leave something burning on the stove or whatever. My ex was a drunk and I have a myriad of stories where his drunken ass put myself and my daughter in physical danger. Sorry you are going through this....it's a bitch.

Not the first time he ruined a mattress. A couple times a few years ago he would get super violent and start looking for fights outside. He would drive my car without permission, impersonate me to cops when pulled over, and stuff

Your brother's not only a drunk, he's a piece of shit.

Bingo! Ghosting him is the way to go. Change the locks.

You would benefit from watching Behind The Music episode with Alice Cooper, very helpful.

Hopefully he'll come to the place where he realizes he has to live without it.

Had many friends who quit but it's not easy.

My teen idol back in the day finally drank himself to death, massive organ failure (David Cassidy, in his sixties).
