You're on an MVNO. Mobile Virtual Network Operator.

They can certainly suck, they are 2nd rate citizens when it comes to bandwidth. I've got an ancient T-Mobile plan that's $50 a month with all I can eat data and lots of hotspot data. I know I can get cheaper, but I appreciate being able to just use data and not give a shit.

I see no reason to spend more than $30 / month on a cell phone for data when I am 95% of the time within range of at least 1 public hotspot. I don't do anything on my phone that's sensitive enough to worry about fuckery and I understand that generally speaking any man in the middle attack will be obvious as fuck.

I usually use >30<50GB a month in data. With LTE on the interstates, it's useful as a streaming audio device. Plenty of shoutcast stations still playing almost anything you'd want to listen to, and I can keep the same "station" for the entire journey.
