Those gateways are very sensitive about what gets sent through them, and will block things that the community here will send more often then not. It's also become a thing to completely disable any email-to-sms gateway traffic due to the rash of buy your house and other spammers recently.

I use my carrier's gateway to send myself notifications from the local network, even those get blocked often and they're just things like TX/RX reports.

For the last 5 years while I had a 1998 flip phone I had family send me texts (anything MMS) to my email for when I got home or to a computer. What you're experiencing is likely you choosing the SMS gateway and sending an MMS.

Most of what I get blocked is things from the local statusnet instance which I run as a bookmarker service. Links from here and other controversial topics get blocked a lot. I've even had just, as I said, the RX/TX reports from machines blocked. For example:

hawk: rx: 852.37 GiB tx: 607.88 GiB total: 1.43 TiB

was recently rejected. There's literally no way for /home/scripts/mmupdate.sh to send an MMS.

It was literally just that text?
