Step one: If at all possible, don't let them get close. Keep a physical barrier between you.

Also remember that you can not escalate by degree. If some rando gets too close you can shove him away and potentially avoid greater conflict. You put a finger on a pig and it's a 'felony'. So if you must defend yourself against a cop- no half measures.

But even if the pig is 100% the aggressor and in the wrong, there's a good chance you'll still get fucked through the 'legal' system, or by his gang of buddies.
