Well, not sure how much it'll matter in the next few years, but the wife and I are officially debt free. Paid the house off in ten years, both vehicles paid off. Have a credit card that is really only used for vacations or emergencies and is paid off that month usually, unless it's something big.

Small victories I guess. One less kikey scheme in my life.

Looking at doing the same but more of an emphasis on a manual setup due to a CME event. How do you plan on doing a manual setup?

found a few really nice self priming hand pumps, all stainless, really nice... I had a well pump go down about a year ago and looked into a manual one and it was just as expensive as replacing the electric one. So it got back burnered for the time, last I checked they were creeping up on $1k for a good self priming one (with my well height anyway). So that also led to the solar talk too... good to have a lot of options when it comes to clean water
