I think a large part of that has to with people, for whatever reason, not liking Trump as a person, and some people with money to throw around didn't want him as president. The fact that the q movement was so closely attached to him, if not completely dependant upon him, made them a natural target. Personally, they annoy me, and I sometimes can't help but poke the bear. It isn't that I hate them or anything, but if I can knock someone onto the path of common sense with simple words, I may try to do so.
