I tried edibles, crackers, and carbo loading for the last few days. I added in starch, biscuits, pasta, rice, increase in food, and addition of alcohol. As of now, I have lost 2 more pounds since i started this experiment. So i think its safe to say i should just eat anything i can at this point and see what happens, because a significant uptick in calories isnt doing shit to my overall weight

yo bro, do your best to eat high food value items like avocado, salmon, red meat (watch your sat fat intake), nuts, peanut butter; cheeses,eggs- stuff that is densely nutritious that will keep you nourished and provide lots of high quality calories. Starches and sugars are used by the body quickly and when you are chronically ill as you are- your body is gobbling up those calories just to function (breathing for example).

there are starches called complex carbohydrates that are healthier (oats for example) but you have to figure out if it takes more energy to digest them then they're no value to you.

Use one of the dieting websites like "fat secret" or "calorieking" as they have nutrition information on countless food items. You don't want to get fat because then it just burdens your cardiopulmonary system even more- keep yourself motivated and healthy and you'll do yourself well.

cheers mate and full steam ahead!

You don't want to be fat with lung problems. Fluid will pool in your lungs, and you will wake up at night feeling as though you are drowning ... which, in fact, you are. The skinnier, the better, up to a point. That point is Jewish concentration camp surviver. Thinner than that, you don't want to be.

part of me suspects some form of Cachexia at play because you would expect the body weight to go up as calorie coutn goes up, not down

well wasting syndrome occurs at a point when muscle mass starts being used as fuel. That usually occurs later in an illness trajectory...

You should talk to your MD about Metformin.

I started working out a month ago. Not sick at all, definitely nothing diagnosed...but fuck...I am eat to beyond fullness at every meal and I have lost 6 pounds. 148 now compared to 154 a month ago. My wife says my diet would be considered by most as intermittent fasting. I find it almost impossible to snack on anything. Literal gag reflex when I am not at the table for a meal.
