Whilst I can understand the appeal, I feel like modern day Christianity is weird. There are so many plaguing issues Christianity has in today's world. The first one is most churches are desperate for members, causing a complete revocation of the core principles. They've started letting everyone in, regardless of who they are, including gays, transgenders, and who knows what else. This is also shown by the complete downplaying of some of the teachings of the old testament.

The second is low members = low dues. This wouldn't be such a big deal, if it wasn't brought up literally every week. I get it, churches need money to function, but you know what turns me off the church? Making it into an event every sunday where you talk about it.

But realistically, the issue is the weird inconsistencies between all the factions. For example, we use KJV standard which is nice. But how do we know which bible version is right? How do we know which is wrong? If God truly wanted us to know his words, why are their so many factions of Christianity, split upon multiple books, all over the place. And why does Jesus in the bible always seem to talk in super cryptic parables which have yet to be understood properly by people who have studied the bible for years?

Christianity has been Constantine'd, Scofielded, and jewed up.

I attend a church that’s small with a basic focus of “teach the Bible.” Weird, right?

We use the Koine Greek for the New Testament, mostly Tischendorf, and review where the differences occur between the versions. If we’re checking an English translation, it’s the NASB just because it lines up most readily with the phrasing we get out of the Greek text.

We own our small building and our operating expenses, including a modest (in line with the middle class for our region) salary for the pastor, are slightly outpaced by our giving. No requirements made for giving. No passing the plate. Simply a note at the start of each sermon about scriptural basis for giving based on what you are able.

The pastor is “paleo-conservative” in his politics, which he occasionally brings up in sermons. He gives no endorsement of “Israel,” publicly or privately. He is an “America first” guy, in old school terms, and has read up on economics, mostly from the Austrian School.

Most of the kids at the church are homeschooled and unvaccinated. The kids are bright, energetic and industrious.

The KJV is a decent translation and we know of its errors. Newer versions' errors not as much. Except for the parable of the sower which was explained, the other parables are best explained by looking at other Bible passages talking about the same subject. Like the woman adding yeast to the flour. Yeast is usually a bad thing representing sin and corruption. Having a woman doing it is likely not a good sign either.

Why did Jesus speak in "cryptic parables?"

  • Maybe because he was trying to impress his audience.
  • Maybe it's the way he was taught to speak in whatever school he went to.
  • Maybe because, by speaking in parables, he could say things without actually saying them.
  • Maybe by speaking in parables he forced his audience to think about his words.
  • Maybe he just liked parables.

If you, a person in the 21st century, were trying to explain to a caveman how laptop computers will work in the future, you'd use parables, too.

There's a meme about this, a greetext, and I'm so fucking annoyed that I can't find it. It was literally someone using century-appropriate metaphors to explain how a CPU works to a medieval monk. It was pretty fucking bad-ass, and contextually fits perfectly in to this conversation. If anyone can find it, link plz. I'll keep looking for a bit.

Makes the most sense, look at today you can't call out the jews without being banned online, nor mention the violence of blacks instead we use 13/52. Can't talk about Mean Mr. Mustache so we say 1488.

1st/2nd paragraph; You're worried about factional infighting, membership and cash flow? That's silly stuff.

3rd paragraph; After an amount of reading I have concluded that, properly read, the Bible is the most racist document ever written with a good portion of the Old Testament documenting what can only be described in today's language as a eugenics program. Altering the meaning of this message through inaccurate translations and interpretations has been a process that has been going on for a couple thousand of years.

I can only recommend that you pursue your curiosity. It is a worth while endeavor.

Current Christianity is indeed weird. Maybe those people who study the bible for years, are not looking in the right place so to say, like the supernatural?

Check out Pastor Steven Anderson's sermons and New IFB churches. Everything is based off scripture. No trannies, faggots, or anyone begging for money.

The assertions of your first two paragraphs are absolutely spot-on, and the reason is because the churches have been usurped by satanic forces. God does not bless these churches, and in fact pours hardships on them— as punishment for being blasphemous and apocryphal. The answer to the first few questions is rooted in what I've already said. However,

And why does Jesus in the bible always seem to talk in super cryptic parables which have yet to be understood properly by people who have studied the bible for years?

Pearls before swine; let those who have eyes to see and ears that hear understand his message. There are tons of devout Christ-followers in this world, who follow in his footsteps every day and understand more about the LORD's words than the vast majority of humans ever could. Obviously, they don't talk to most people about it, because: see the first sentence in this paragraph. It'd be an exercise in futility.

Osteen isn't doing too bad, how is his church experiencing hardships?

The same way that questionable celebrities are millionaires and worshiped by normies. They're so far removed from Christ that they start getting materially blessed by he who temporarily rules the Earth.
