Baptist
My church is desperate for membership as well, especially the <50 crowd. My former church, also Baptist, not so much.
If they could tone down the desperation and weekly calls for cash, I would love it. But this is a double edged sword i feel like. Since the church lives off donations, but at the same time, talking about money is a touchy subject.
I don't know much about being a Baptist does it cost you money every session?
Technically it does, depends on how you look at it. I have noticed, the pastor has been talking about a lot more. Whilst I do give here and there, there is no expectation to do so, except for the weekly call of asking for more money if the church is under budget
I know you don't want to be shunned but I'd say do what you need to do. There is no requirement for group worship 5 days a week. Just be the pastor for your family and keep the good relationships with your friends.
