Pipeline runs from Texas to newyork ive read. Only problems ive heard of are TN n NC. Panic buyin. Who can blame em though? Do the opposite of what the gov. recommends seems to be the thing to do around here. Most of the people I do jobs for are 70 n 80 yrs old. They recall worse times than this. " If we all remain calm and resolute, this to shall pass" is what I hear dailly. Kinda comforting.
I would love to know the nature of the "attack", but they're being tight lipped, even to CISA.
Could be anything, could be nothing. Could be some people high up pressuring non-complaint states through a shallow pretext. Could be contrived pretext for online censorship & spying. The point is that we don't fucking know, and everyone will try to sell their own story. Best to ignore it really, until there's more to know.
It was a ransomware attack on the business network of the company. Didn't actually affect the pipeline at all, they just shut it down as a "precaution".
The group that did the hack took about 100GB of data from the network.
You see my point then.
